A sustainability assessment of office operations has recently prompted rapid change at Yeats. As a company that is on the forefront of sustainable land development practices it is essential that we take the initiative to be an environmentally responsible company in all facets of our operations. Combining a number of simple low cost changes has facilitated a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of our office. These changes include; tree free bathroom supplies, a co-mingled recycling system, altering print settings to draft and double sided, choosing 80% post consumer recycled copy paper, biodegradable cleaning supplies, consideration of environmental rating for suppliers of everything from office furniture to computers to petrol, changing power management functions on computers and selecting an environmentally responsible coffee brand. Systems are in place to monitor both consumables and waste which will provide statistics to allow for future assessment and improvement of our practices.
